According to Naga pianist Khyochano TCK, who is behind the Brillante Piano Festival happening this weekend, Bengaluru's vibrant cultural landscape provides the ideal backdrop for the event. Originating in Kohima in 2017, the festival will bring together musicians from 18 countries and 16 Indian states for performances, workshops, competitions, and masterclasses spanning genres like jazz, contemporary, and classical music. The festival also features a platform for Specially Abled Musicians (SAM), which was introduced in the 2023 edition to foster inclusivity and admiration rather than mere attention for special children. Prior to the festival, an engaging street piano event was held at Church Street, highlighting the community's involvement and the transformative power of music and art in connecting diverse groups through creative expression.
